Scoring To Picture

From original music composed for short films to rescores of already existing film, here are some examples of scoring to picture!

Unabducted - Music Contest.

Music composed for the Indie Film Music Contest. The purpose was to compose a "UFO" kind of music.

Rey - Rescore.

A rescore involves taking a film and recomposing its music for portfolio purposes. In this case, it's the final scene of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The instrumentation is entirely orchestral.

Spring - Rescore.

A rescore involves taking a film and recomposing its music for portfolio purposes. In this case, it's a short fantasy animated film. The music has been composed in a hybrid orchestral style.

Cali. Original Music

The short film "Cali" was directed by Elisa Martinez as part of an audiovisual undergraduate project at the "Arènes de Toulouse" high school.

I composed 15 minutes of music for piano, violin and transverse flute. Each instrument embodies a character. The interactions and conflicts between the characters show through in the music.

The instrumentalists were recorded in a professional studio in Montreal

Stickman and the Fire Sword - Original Music.

This is an animated short film that I personally made as part of my undergraduate at the University of Montreal. We had to produce the music on images that we had to make ourselves.

The music aims to evoke a haunted castle. Blending modern concept of harmony used in music aimed at illustrating the supernatural, and baroque harmony and instrumentation.

Étoile Désobeissante - Original Music.

A rescore consists of taking a film and recomposing the music for the purposes of a portfolio. This is the final scene of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. Fully orchestral instrumentation.

Petya of My Petya - Music Contest

My participation in the FFM Contest, a composition competition organized by the “Four For Music” orchestra. The contestants had to write an original music for a scene from the film Petya of My Petya.

Cat People.

This short film is a remake of a scene from the film “La Féline” directed by Paul Schrader. The french film review "La Septième Obsession" challenged directors Llona Glinel and Matthieu Chinchole: to make this scene according to the way of another director: Dario Argento.

The music for this short film was produced using virtual instruments and recordings of my voice. The purpose of the music is to go in the direction of the strangeness and unease conveyed by the images, in order to transport the spectator into a strange and disturbing world.

Contract Me.

The short film “Contracte-moi" was directed by Llona Glinel and Matthieu Ch inchole as part of a competition organized by "sidaction" a french organization, with the theme of raising awareness of consent and contraception. That short film won the second place of the competition.

You can listen to the contrast between a jazz part and a romantic classical part.
